Many ways to preserve potatoes.
When buying or storing potatoes from the garden, it’s always best to store them and dry dark spaces. When potatoes start to sprout after sitting so long, they’ll create what we used to know as (eye buds). Those sprouts are the new beginning roots of another set of potatoes.
You can always remove the sprouts that are the new roots, cut up your potatoes, and use them while they’re either still in solid form or when they start to become more watery or wilted. That’s the softening stage of your potato.
To store them much easier is to freeze them. It’s one of the many ways you can store your potatoes for freshness. Chopping them up in small pieces and washing them till the water becomes clear takes 2 to 4 times to ensure most of the starch is removed.
Once washed, either vacuum seal your product or Ziploc your product. The best place to store your freshly cut potatoes is at the bottom of all your products inside your deep freezer or your refrigerator freezer, which puts pressure and weight on the potatoes to push out any extra air. Potatoes are known for not only absorbing water base hole, but it also keeps them from being crystallized during the freezing process.
This is many ways that you can store potatoes in a freezing method. This also includes pre-seasoning your potatoes to your liking with herbs and spices or leaving them plain.
Potatoes are a great side dish, whether boiled, fried, or baked.
