
As an African-American woman living in the United States, black women have always been criticized and dehumanized about our hair. At many times during enslavement black women were forced to have their hair stripped from their head and shave them down. Black women also were forced to cover their hair, although the white men founded appealing and were Very prompt to allure themselves with the hair of a black woman.
Our hair is our strength because we know our hair grows to the sun. It comes in coils. It comes straight. It comes loosely and tight baby curls. Our hair is defined in ways and in which mankind cannot understand. Because we are women and we are goddess of the sun.
Black women’s hair has caused controversy created storms and waves, and have moved mountains in the society of the African-American community. From braided hair to cornrows to ethnic curls. We have hairstyles that have the world today.

A black woman’s hair comes in mini shades and designs that are flawless yet ethnically beautiful. The look of it is art the feel of it is the gratitude of God and our ancestors.

Black hair has a long history, both for men and women. From the Afro to make a statement to box braids because it is cultural. Black people, especially black women have a long-standing journey to continue our culture, values, backgrounds, traditions, lifestyles, and journeys that have brought us today. Black is beautiful black is history. Being a black person in this country, we move mountains and make waves. Our hair is a journey.
